Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand says Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth should step down after a watchdog report found he used a private app to share military strike details, according to the Associated Press.
The report says Hegseth used Signal to send exact bombing times for a Yemen mission — before U.S. aircraft were airborne. A journalist was accidentally added to the chat, exposing the breach. He also used a personal phone for official business, violating Pentagon rules.
Gillibrand called Hegseth “reckless” and “unfit.” The White House says no classified info was leaked and President Trump still supports him.
