New York’s top court is reviewing a challenge that could decide whether Seneca Meadows landfill must shut down by year’s end, according to Finger Lakes Times.
Seneca Meadows Inc. wants Local Law 3 of 2016 thrown out, claiming the town rushed the environmental review and failed legal requirements. While the town isn’t defending the law, local residents and activists are stepping in to fight the appeal.
Lawyers argued over environmental impacts, timelines, and whether the case is even valid after so many years. A ruling will determine if the landfill closes or continues operations.
