Big changes are underway at Onanda Park, where construction crews are making steady progress on a series of upgrades to improve the lakeside destination.
According to a recent update from the Town of Canandaigua, the new road and parking areas are nearly finished. A new water main is in place, and all required stormwater work has been completed — major steps in a multi-phase project to enhance the park’s infrastructure.
Over the next six to eight weeks, the town’s Highway Department will shift focus to installing retaining walls and a new septic system. These upgrades are needed to support upcoming park structures and amenities.
Town officials say they’re excited about the transformation and are encouraging residents to follow along as work continues. Once complete, the improvements are expected to make Onanda Park safer, more accessible, and more enjoyable for visitors along Canandaigua Lake.
