A domestic incident in Marion left one person injured and another facing felony charges after deputies say a woman struck someone in the head with a hand lantern.
Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies arrested 29-year-old Jessica Martinez on Nov. 23 after responding to a home on Buffalo Street around 7 a.m.
According to investigators, the victim had a visible head laceration when deputies arrived. They say Martinez used a hand lantern to hit the victim during the altercation.
She was charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Martinez was arraigned later that evening at Wayne County CAP Court and remains in custody as the case moves forward.
