Campbell man charged with child rape, other felonies after abuse investigation

A Steuben County man faces multiple felony charges after a New York State Police investigation uncovered years of alleged sexual abuse involving a juvenile victim.

Troopers arrested 35-year-old Allen P. Jerome of Campbell following a report made to the New York State Child Abuse Hotline. On November 12, 2025, investigators from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Painted Post were contacted by Steuben County Child Protective Services after a 15-year-old disclosed ongoing abuse.

According to State Police, the investigation revealed the abuse occurred over several years at Jerome’s residence in Campbell. Troopers executed a search warrant at the home as part of the investigation.

Jerome was charged with first-degree rape and first-degree course of sexual conduct against a child, both Class B felonies. He was also charged with second-degree strangulation (Class D felony), tampering with physical evidence, and aggravated family offense, both Class E felonies.

Jerome was processed at SP Painted Post and transported to the Steuben County Jail for arraignment. Authorities say an Order of Protection is being requested on behalf of the victim.

The investigation remains ongoing.
