A Rochester woman is facing multiple charges after deputies say she stole from Walmart with a child in tow — and in violation of a court order meant to protect that child.
Deputies arrested 34-year-old Christina Elizabeth McCloud-Evans Friday afternoon in Fairport. The charges stem from a July 24 theft at the Canandaigua Walmart on Recreation Drive in the Town of Hopewell.
According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, McCloud-Evans worked with two other people to steal merchandise from the store. Investigators say a juvenile was with her during the theft and later learned that an active order of protection barred her from having contact with that child.
She’s now charged with petit larceny, endangering the welfare of a child, and second-degree criminal contempt.
Deputies took McCloud-Evans into custody without incident around 2:15 p.m. Friday at 6600 Pittsford Palmyra Road. She was taken to the Ontario County Jail and held for arraignment.
