Family escapes Bristol house fire

Smoke poured from a Bristol home Tuesday night after a chimney fire broke out—but everyone made it out safely.

Fire crews and an Ontario County deputy responded around 7:56 p.m. to 8073 Farview Drive, where they found smoke coming from the house. Jerry Hill, 51, and his wife Amy, 48, had already evacuated with their three children by the time help arrived.

Crews from Richmond and Bristol fire departments quickly got the fire under control. While the chimney and parts of the home’s interior were damaged, the family was cleared to return home after a safety check by code enforcement.

Deputy Statt and Sergeant Francher led the investigation at the scene.
