Two drivers were injured and one car burst into flames after a crash Saturday afternoon at the intersection of State Routes 245 and 247 in the Town of Gorham.
Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies say Stephen J. Crowley, 41, of Rochester, failed to yield at a stop sign while driving south on Route 247. His Kia Rio collided with a Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Martin A. Runner, 73, of Stanley.
The impact caused Crowley’s vehicle to catch fire. He managed to escape without burns and was later taken to Thompson Hospital with minor injuries.
Runner also suffered minor injuries but did not need hospital treatment.
Rushville Fire Department and Middlesex Ambulance responded to the scene. Deputies issued Crowley a ticket for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign.
