Sprint car fans are in for a milestone moment this weekend as Woodhull Raceway hosts the first-ever CRSA Sprints New York Nationals, a two-night event set for Friday and Saturday, September 12–13.
The A-Verdi Storage Containers CRSA Sprints will headline the show with the richest purse in series history — nearly $29,000 over two nights, with Saturday’s feature winner taking home $4,000. It marks the first New York Nationals for the CRSA since 2019 and one of two Nationals the series will stage in 2025, with the second set for Outlaw Speedway in October.
“This is going to be one of the biggest weekends Woodhull Raceway has ever hosted,” track officials said. “From the region’s best sprint drivers battling for glory, to the memorial races, the live music, and the return of old-school Powder Puff action, fans will get it all in one unforgettable weekend”.
Friday’s action will feature qualifying heats and twin 20-lap features for the sprint cars. Also on the card is the Ladd Road Auto Hobby Stocks’ “King Bop Dirty Thirty” Allison Pierce Memorial, paying $800 to the winner, along with the always-thrilling RUSH Crate Late Models. After the checkered flag, fans can enjoy a concert by Be Damned and a massive bonfire.

Saturday’s program brings time trials, heat races, the pole dash, B-Main, and a 30-lap feature to decide the inaugural NY Nationals champion. The card will also include the Hometown Excavation Crate Sportsman, Hobby Stocks, and a special return of the Powder Puff race — a throwback to one of Woodhull’s most nostalgic traditions.
The weekend comes as the CRSA championship battle heats up. Zach Sobotka and Dillon Paddock — each with four wins this season, including prior victories at Woodhull — headline the entry list. They’ll be joined by past champion Jordan Hutton, Dalton Herrick, and veteran contender Billy VanInwegen, among others.
Fans can expect not only racing but also giveaways and bonuses, including brake kits from Smith Ti and cash awards for New York State Stock Car Association members. Camping is free on site, and CRSA’s 20th anniversary merchandise will be available all weekend.
Pit gates open at 4 p.m. both days, with grandstand seating at 4:30. An early-bird special will take $1 off adult admission from 4:30 to 5 p.m. Discounts are available for seniors and children with a paid adult.
Celebrating 60 years of racing, Woodhull Raceway once again aims to show why it’s known as “New York’s Toughest Bullring.”
