Teen hit while waiting for school bus in Lockport

A 15-year-old boy was seriously injured Thursday morning after a vehicle struck him while he was waiting for his school bus in Lockport.

State police say the crash happened around 6:52 a.m. on Beattie Avenue. A 2004 Ford Explorer, driven by a 17-year-old male, veered off the road, traveled through a front yard, and hit a parked vehicle in a driveway. That vehicle was pushed forward and struck the teen.

The boy was taken to Erie County Medical Center with severe leg injuries. The teen driver, who was alone in the Ford, was also transported to the hospital. No charges have been filed at this time.

The investigation is ongoing. The NYSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the Community Stabilization Unit, and the Niagara County District Attorney’s Office are assisting.
