Lockheed Martin’s Owego facility just secured a major defense contract worth more than $56 million to support the U.S. Air Force.
Congressman Nick Langworthy announced the award Tuesday, calling it a big win for both the region and the nation’s military. The contract will fund the production of countermeasure receivers for the B-2 stealth bomber — one of the Air Force’s most advanced aircraft.
“This is another major win for Lockheed Martin Owego, and a significant investment in the safety and effectiveness of our B-2 fleet,” Langworthy said.
All work will be done in Owego and is expected to be completed by August 2031.
Lockheed’s Owego team has long been a hub for defense innovation, specializing in mission systems and electronic warfare. Langworthy praised the site’s workforce, calling them “hard-working men and women” who play a critical role in national security.
