A rollover crash knocked out two utility poles and sent a Rochester man to the hospital Saturday afternoon, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say 28-year-old William R. Frechette was driving on Brace Road in East Bloomfield when he veered off the road and flipped his Dodge Avenger.
The crash happened around 3:17 p.m. near the intersection of Brace and Rice Roads. Investigators say Frechette hit two utility poles before the car came to rest. He was the only person in the vehicle and suffered minor injuries.
Deputies determined he was intoxicated at the time. Frechette was taken to FF Thompson Hospital and later issued tickets for DWI and for driving at an unreasonable speed.
Brace Road was shut down for a period while crews repaired the damaged poles. Frechette is scheduled to appear in East Bloomfield Town Court at a later date.
The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by New York State Police, Canandaigua EMS, and the East Bloomfield Fire Department.
