Franklin Street overflowed with fans Friday as Watkins Glen’s Grand Prix Festival drew one of its biggest crowds in years, according to officials.
Locals said the crowd felt larger than last year, crediting the turnout to both perfect weather and a collective need for joy after a rough year in the news.
The event honored Porsche as this year’s featured marque, but more than 650 classic and vintage cars filled the streets, alongside live music, vendors, and historic laps through the original Grand Prix circuit.
