CDPAP contractor backtracks under oath, lawmakers demand answers

Public Partnerships LLC admitted it misled lawmakers about communications with state officials during New York’s overhaul of the CDPAP home care program, according to Spectrum News 1.

Company exec Patty Byrnes had testified there were no talks with the Department of Health before PPL was awarded the controversial contract. Days later, she walked that back in a letter, confirming there were conversations — though she claimed she didn’t know about them at the time.

Senators say the reversal adds weight to concerns that the Hochul administration may have steered the contract process. Subpoenas and further investigation are likely.
