Corrections Sergeant retires after 25 years of service

The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office honored Corrections Sergeant Lorrie Gardner this week as she completed her final walkout, marking the end of a 25-year career in law enforcement.

Gardner began her service with the Sheriff’s Office in 2000. She was promoted to Acting Sergeant in June 2007 and became a full Sergeant in February 2008. Over the years, she became a respected leader and trainer, known for her work in suicide prevention and crisis intervention.
