Willard Chapel gets $23.5K for preservation study

Auburn’s historic Willard Chapel just secured $23,500 in grants for critical preservation planning, according to The Citizen.

The Community Preservation Committee received $18,500 from the Preservation League of New York State and $5,000 from the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The funding will cover a full building condition report, including roof, masonry, and stained-glass concerns.

Built in 1894 and decorated by Louis Comfort Tiffany, the chapel is the last remaining Auburn structure from the former theological seminary.
