Newark boards to review garage height variance, Erie Blvd. site plan

Two upcoming meetings in Newark will focus on a garage height variance and a new commercial development project.

The Village Planning Board will meet Tuesday, September 2, at 6:30 p.m. in the Village Court Room at 100 East Miller Street. That meeting includes two reviews: one for a proposed 8,400-square-foot office and storage building at 103 Erie Blvd., and another for a variance request tied to a garage project on Silver Hill Road.

Mitchell Ruffalo, on behalf of Ruffalo Enterprises LLC, is seeking final site plan approval for the Erie Blvd. project. The building would be located in the village’s Planned Industrial Development zone and include site improvements.

Also on the agenda is a project from Matthew and Wendy Burgess, who want to build a detached garage at 305 Silver Hill Road with 14-foot eaves. Current village code limits eave height on detached accessory buildings to 12 feet. Their request will also go before the Zoning Board of Appeals on Monday, September 8, at 6:30 p.m., also in the Village Court Room.

Each meeting will begin with a 6:00 p.m. workshop before the regular agenda.
