Geneva housing project faces zoning hurdle

A $38 million, 74-unit downtown housing project in Geneva cleared its first hurdle with Planning Board approval last week, according to the Finger Lakes Times.

Now, the Zoning Board of Appeals will hold a public hearing Tuesday to review variance requests for Lakeview Health Services’ proposal—Lakeview Downtown Lofts—including issues with parking, building setbacks, and placing a Dumpster in the front yard.

The project includes units for mental health support and income-based housing. A final decision on tax incentives is still pending from the city’s Industrial Development Agency.
