Bath woman jailed after cane assault at hotel: Held without bail

A Bath woman is facing felony assault charges after police say she struck another person with her cane during an incident at a local hotel.

According to the Village of Bath Police Department, the investigation began on May 20 when officers responded to a reported assault at the Finger Lakes Inn and Suites. The suspect, identified as 53-year-old Nikki Wright, was accused of hitting the victim with her cane and causing physical injury.

Following the investigation, police issued a warrant for Wright’s arrest. She was found on August 6 sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle during a traffic stop. Officers took her into custody without incident.

Wright was charged with Assault in the Second Degree, a Class D felony. After processing at the Bath Police Department, she was taken to the Steuben County Jail, where she is being held without bail.
