The United Way of Cayuga County has a new leader—and she’s already hitting the ground running.
Lisa Kaminski joined the nonprofit last week as Executive Director, just in time for its 5th Annual Day of Caring. She brings decades of experience and a passion for community-building to the role.
A familiar face with fresh energy

Kaminski spent 27 years with the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways, where she led efforts to grow membership, strengthen partnerships, and expand youth programs. Now, she’s using that experience to lead one of Cayuga County’s most impactful organizations.
“I’m honored to begin my role,” she said. “I look forward to working alongside the staff, board, local partners, volunteers, and residents to improve lives and strengthen the community.”
In her first week, Kaminski has already met with workplace campaign partners, introduced herself to United Way’s 2025–27 Member Agencies, and visited project sites during the Day of Caring.
Community focus at the core
Tracy Verrier, Board President, said the team is excited about Kaminski’s leadership.
“We appreciate the experience, energy, and compassion she’ll bring to the organization,” Verrier said.
Kaminski lives in the Finger Lakes with her two children and volunteers regularly. Outside of work, she enjoys supporting local events, walking trails, and cheering on her kids at school activities.
