Seneca County will name new deputy county manager

The Seneca County Board of Supervisors is set to appoint longtime Emergency Management Director Melissa Taylor as deputy county manager, the Finger Lakes Times reports.

A residency waiver is on Tuesday’s agenda since Taylor lives in Lyons. The role pays about $139,000 and could serve as a pathway to the top county manager position.

Taylor has worked for the county since 2008, leading the Emergency Management Office since 2015 and overseeing the 911 Center, EMS coordination, and multimillion-dollar budgets.

Her tenure brought full state accreditation for the office, and she has held leadership roles in multiple regional safety organizations.
