Williamson’s Mike Leaty scored a decisive Race of Champions Sportsman Modified Series victory Friday at Spencer Speedway, according to the Times of Wayne County. The win came during Fan Appreciation Night, which also saw over 70 kids receive free backpacks and school supplies.
Leaty passed Ontario’s Andrew Lewis Jr. to take the lead, with Andy Jankowiak finishing third. Andy Lewis Sr. and Kevin Timmerman rounded out the top five. Heat race wins went to Lewis Sr., Leaty, and Lewis Jr., with Lewis Sr. also posting the fastest practice lap.
Other feature winners included Joe Mancuso in Super Stocks, Austin Patterson earning his first 602 Sportsman Modified win, and Williamson locals Patsy Catalano and Ashley Schoonmaker topping the Four Cylinder and Super Six divisions.
