Two people were hospitalized Saturday afternoon after their RV rolled over along I-90 in the town of Manchester, according to New York State Police.
Troopers responded to the eastbound lanes near Exit 43 at approximately 2:09 p.m. on August 2, where they found a motorhome overturned on its roof. Samantha M. Hileman, 36, and Travis S. Hileman, 42—both of Altoona, Pennsylvania—were inside. Travis Hileman was trapped underneath the vehicle when police arrived.
Investigators say the rollover began when an unidentified vehicle in the left lane missed its exit and came to a sudden stop. The abrupt stop caused traffic in both lanes to slow down rapidly, forcing the RV—traveling in the right lane—to swerve onto the shoulder. Due to the vehicle’s weight, it flipped over.
Both occupants were taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for evaluation. No serious injuries were reported.
