Seneca Falls board to weigh murals, infrastructure, and tax cap at tonight’s meeting

The Seneca Falls Town Board is set to tackle a full agenda Tuesday evening, with resolutions on public art, infrastructure upgrades, employee changes, and a proposed tax cap override all up for discussion. The meeting is set to begin at 6 p.mm.

The board will hear from several petitioners early in the session, including Judy Wentzel with an update on the mural project at 89 Fall Street, and Andrew Olden of the Seneca Museum & Tourism Center. Two speakers are also scheduled to address employee benefits.

Key decisions on the docket include a resolution approving the Bonafiglia Foundation Mural Project, a formal proclamation recognizing the Mary Church Terrell Exhibit at the National Women’s Hall of Fame, and a series of resolutions concerning water infrastructure improvements and environmental assessments.

Other agenda items include the proposed rescission of the town’s COVID-19 leave policy, staffing reclassifications within public works and water departments, and a resolution to schedule a public hearing on exceeding the state’s 2 percent property tax cap.

Additional votes will address a new wastewater training requirement, vehicle transfers, highway infrastructure enhancements, and formal acknowledgment of a NYS Canal Corp letter concerning the East Bayard Street culvert.
