A Campbell resident was arrested Thursday after allegedly submitting false documents to obtain welfare benefits he was not eligible to receive.
Brandon M. Leonard, 35, is accused of fraudulently collecting $1,158 from the Steuben County Department of Social Services between January and June.
According to the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office, Leonard is charged with four felonies: offering a false instrument for filing, welfare fraud, falsifying business records, and grand larceny.
Leonard was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to return to Village of Bath Court. Sheriff Jim Allard thanked the Department of Social Services and the District Attorney’s Office for assisting in the case.
