Teen arrested after stabbing in Minerva

A 16-year-old boy from Johnsburg was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly stabbing another person during a fight in the town of Minerva.

The New York State Police said the altercation began around 3:03 a.m. on Beach Road when a verbal argument between the teen and the victim turned violent. During the physical struggle, the suspect reportedly stabbed the victim in the stomach.

The victim was transported to Glens Falls Hospital with serious injuries, according to investigators.

Troopers from State Police Troop G located and arrested the suspect later that day. He was taken to SP Schroon Lake for processing and is being arraigned in Essex County Court. The teen faces charges of first-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
