Two Wayne County school districts are combining their soccer programs to ensure stability and opportunity. According to WayneTimes.com, Gananda and Marion will merge all girls soccer teams and the boys modified and JV squads starting in the Fall 2025 season.
Officials said the decision was driven by shifting student enrollment and a shared commitment to maintaining competitive, well-supported athletics. The partnership is intended to enhance both schools’ athletic offerings without sacrificing student access or quality.
Details about coaching, practices, and schedules are still being finalized. The districts promised to release more information as plans take shape to help families and athletes prepare.
