Saks, formerly the Chief Attorney for the Children’s Law Office in Schuyler and Chemung counties, is accused of submitting fraudulent receipts while employed under the Supreme Court, Appellate Division Third Judicial Department. The State Police Special Investigations Unit out of Rochester launched an investigation after receiving a complaint in June 2024.

According to investigators, Saks overstated or forged bills to claim reimbursements from New York State totaling approximately $19,957. The funds, authorities said, were intended for other employees or covered personal expenses unrelated to her court duties.

Saks was arraigned in Albany City Court and released pending future court appearances. No additional details about the investigation or potential disciplinary actions were disclosed.
