Outrage after $1 bail set in child sex abuse case

A Hobart man accused of sending explicit videos to a child is back on the streets after a Delaware County judge set his bail at just $1, according to WBNG.

Brent Trimbell, 44, was initially jailed in June on rape and child endangerment charges. After bonding out, he was hit with six more felonies for distributing indecent material to a minor. Despite prosecutors seeking $100,000 bail during his second arraignment, the judge ordered his release for a single dollar.

Sheriff Craig DuMond called the decision shocking and said it undermines child safety. The investigation is still ongoing.
