Seneca Falls man arrested again after violating court order

A Seneca Falls man was arrested Friday morning after allegedly trying to force his way into a home in violation of a court order, according to the Town of Seneca Falls Police Department.

John L. Battaglia, 35, was taken into custody at 6:00 a.m. on July 18. Police say the arrest stems from an incident the evening prior, around 5:45 p.m., when Battaglia violated a Class A Order of Protection and attempted to gain forcible entry into a residence.

Battaglia now faces charges of attempted burglary in the second degree and criminal contempt in the second degree.

This is his second arrest in less than a week. On July 12, police arrested Battaglia in connection with a domestic dispute reported earlier that day. He was charged with unlawful imprisonment in the second degree, criminal mischief in the fourth degree, assault in the third degree, petit larceny, and harassment in the second degree.

Following the July 12 arrest, Battaglia was processed and transported to the Seneca County Correctional Facility to await arraignment.
