Rochester man arrested for DWI after Canandaigua traffic stop

A Rochester man was arrested early Tuesday morning for driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the Town of Canandaigua, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Casimer B. Lopata-Linn, 27, of Newcastle Road, was pulled over at 12:14 a.m. near 2337 State Route 332. Deputies initiated the stop after observing multiple traffic violations.

During the stop, Lopata-Linn was administered a series of standardized field sobriety tests and was determined to be intoxicated. He was charged with DWI and issued several tickets, including for following too closely, failure to use a turn signal, and leaving his lane unsafely.

Lopata-Linn was released to a sober driver and is scheduled to appear in Canandaigua Town Court at a later date.
