Deputies have arrested a Savannah man after a laboratory confirmed he possessed fentanyl during a traffic stop earlier this year in the Town of Sodus.
The suspect, 45-year-old Shawn P. Davis of Carncross Road, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree following the test results. He was taken to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office to await arraignment at CAP.
The arrest stems from an earlier stop on State Route 104 in Sodus, conducted by deputies from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. During that stop, law enforcement discovered a suspected narcotic in Davis’s possession. The substance was collected and later tested, confirming it to be fentanyl.
The arrest was carried out by Investigating Officer T. Bickel and reported at 5:00 p.m. on July 18.
