Weedsport is making another run at a $10 million Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant, with help from Cayuga County’s planning department, according to The Citizen. The village is collecting project proposals from residents and businesses through August 15.
Eligible ideas range from building renovations and new housing to parks and streetscape upgrades. The village missed out on the funding last year when Pulaski won for Central New York, but was encouraged to reapply in 2025.
If successful, Weedsport would join other area communities—like Auburn and Aurora—that have secured state revitalization funds in previous rounds.
