Major League Baseball’s biggest stars are set for the spotlight in Atlanta. The starting lineups for the 2025 MLB All-Star Game presented by Mastercard were announced Tuesday evening on ESPN, revealing a star-studded cast led by Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani, the top vote-getters in their respective leagues.
Judge, the New York Yankees outfielder and two-time AL MVP, earned his seventh fan-elected start, joining Hall of Famers Derek Jeter and Dave Winfield as the only Yankees to reach that milestone. Judge will anchor an American League lineup featuring three players from the AL-best Detroit Tigers, rookie shortstop Jacob Wilson of the Athletics, and MLB home run leader Cal Raleigh of the Mariners.
Raleigh makes history as Seattle’s first-ever fan-elected catcher, while Wilson becomes just the second rookie shortstop ever to start an All-Star Game. The Tigers’ trio—Riley Greene, Javier Báez, and Gleyber Torres—marks Detroit’s first time placing three starters since 2007. Greene and Báez become the first Tigers outfield duo elected since Ron LeFlore and Rusty Staub in 1976.
Infielders Vladimir Guerrero Jr. of the Blue Jays and José RamÃrez of the Guardians round out the AL infield, with Ryan O’Hearn of the Orioles earning his first All-Star nod as the designated hitter.
On the National League side, Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani leads a loaded lineup alongside teammates Freddie Freeman and Will Smith. Freeman returns for his ninth All-Star selection and fifth fan election, while Smith earns his first fan-elected start, joining Mike Piazza and Russell Martin in Dodgers history.
Ronald Acuña Jr. of the host Atlanta Braves headlines the NL outfield for the fifth straight year. He’s joined by Cubs outfielders Pete Crow-Armstrong and Kyle Tucker, giving Chicago its first fan-elected outfield pair since 2008.
The NL infield features Ketel Marte (Diamondbacks), Francisco Lindor (Mets), and Manny Machado (Padres). Lindor becomes the Mets’ first fan-elected shortstop since José Reyes in 2011, while Machado joins exclusive company as the first Padres third baseman with multiple fan elections.
Altogether, 13 clubs are represented among the starters. The Tigers and Dodgers lead the way with three players each, while the Cubs have two. Eight of the 18 starters are internationally born, hailing from five different countries and territories.
The full All-Star rosters, including pitchers and reserves, will be revealed Sunday, July 6 at 5 p.m. ET on ESPN.
