State Police have arrested a 21-year-old man in connection with a stabbing that seriously injured another man in the village of Sodus.
Darin Barber Jr., of Sodus, was taken into custody without incident on June 30 after voluntarily appearing at the New York State Police barracks in Lyons. Investigators identified Barber as the suspect in a stabbing that occurred three days earlier.
Troopers from Wolcott responded to the June 27 incident after receiving a report of a stabbing. The 26-year-old victim had already been transported by private vehicle to the Sodus Fire Department. From there, an ambulance took him to Strong Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
Barber is charged with Assault in the First Degree, a class B felony, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, a class D felony. He was transported to the Wayne County Jail for CAP arraignment.
The investigation is being handled by the New York State Police Troop E, under the command of Major Kevin Sucher.
