Waterloo police are talking parking violations after receiving multiple complaints about vehicles overstaying two-hour limits in the village’s downtown area.
The Village of Waterloo Police Department announced that both residents and business owners have raised concerns that current parking restrictions are not being followed. In response, officials are reminding drivers of the specific locations and times where 2-hour limits are enforced before stepping up enforcement efforts.
According to the department, vehicles may not remain parked longer than two hours between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. at designated spots across several streets:
- East Main Street (North side): From the east curbline of Inslee Street to the property at 225 East Main, and from the west curbline of Inslee to 231 East Main.
- Main Street (North side): Between Church Street and the property at 44 West Main Street.
- Main Street (South side): From the Presbyterian Church at 42 East Main to 35 West Main Street.
- Virginia Street (East side): Between Main Street and East Water Street, and between Main Street and Williams Street.
- Virginia Street (West side): Between Main Street and West Water Street, and between Main Street and Williams Street.
- West Williams Street (Both sides): Between Virginia Street and Center Street.
The police department urged all drivers to familiarize themselves with these locations to avoid tickets. “Before increasing parking enforcement, we want everyone to be aware of the time and locations of the 2-hour parking restrictions,” officials said.
