The owner of a Rochester driveway sealing company has pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return after underreporting more than $1.7 million in income.

U.S. Attorney Michael DiGiacomo announced Tuesday that Gregory J. Coco, 44, admitted in federal court to concealing customer payments received by his business, Century Asphalt Maintenance, between 2017 and 2022.

According to prosecutors, Coco reported only a portion of the $2,611,685.57 his company earned during that time. As a result, he failed to pay $456,683 in federal income taxes.

Coco faces up to three years in prison and a $250,000 fine. Sentencing is set for October 7 before U.S. District Judge Meredith A. Vacca.

The case was investigated by the IRS Criminal Investigations Division.
