The first trailer for Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere has dropped, revealing Emmy-winning actor Jeremy Allen White as music legend Bruce Springsteen. The biopic, based on Warren Zanes’ book, is set to premiere in theaters nationwide on October 24, 2025.

A deep dive into the making of Nebraska

Directed by Scott Cooper, the film chronicles the emotionally charged creation of Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska. Known for its haunting acoustic tone and stripped-down production, the album marked a turning point in Springsteen’s life and artistry. According to Cooper, the film explores “memory, myth, and truth,” offering fans a glimpse inside the soul of the “Born to Run” artist.

Jeremy Allen White, known for The Bear, portrays Springsteen during this transformative period. The trailer showcases White singing Springsteen classics, including a stirring take on “Born to Run.”

Mixed fan reactions to casting

The trailer has sparked debate online, with opinions sharply divided over White’s performance. Some fans praised his transformation and predicted Oscar buzz:

  • “Jeremy Allen White Oscar campaign has officially begun. Let’s go!”
  • “This trailer solidified in my mind that Jeremy Allen White is a movie star.”

Others, however, questioned the casting and authenticity:

  • “Nothing about him is Springsteen. I know he’s having a moment but just no.”
  • “Unlike Chalamet playing Bob Dylan, I just don’t see Jeremy as Bruce.”

Political backdrop draws attention

The film’s buzz arrives amid fresh scrutiny of Springsteen’s political activism. During a recent concert in Manchester, Springsteen called the Trump administration “corrupt, incompetent and treasonous.” While his remarks reflect long-standing political themes in his work, some critics claim the timing is aimed at boosting the film’s visibility.

Supporting cast and production team

The biopic also features:

  • Jeremy Strong as manager Jon Landau
  • Stephen Graham as Springsteen’s father
  • Gaby Hoffmann, Marc Maron, and Odessa Young in supporting roles

The film is produced by Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, and Scott Stuber, with Springsteen and Landau granting access and support during production.

October release coming soon

With its October release date set, Deliver Me From Nowhere will likely ignite awards-season conversations. Whether it wins over Springsteen die-hards or not, the film is poised to spark strong reactions—and possibly, box office gold.
