Early voting for New York’s 2025 primary elections kicked off with over 75,000 ballots cast statewide, according to Spectrum News 1. More than 66,000 of those votes came from New York City, where the Democratic mayoral primary is drawing significant attention.
The rest of the state contributed nearly 9,000 votes, with counties like Erie, Monroe, Albany, and Onondaga seeing modest turnout. Upstate cities such as Albany, Syracuse, Buffalo, and Rochester are hosting their own key mayoral races.
Early voting runs through Sunday, June 22, with Primary Day set for Tuesday, June 24. This marks the sixth year of early voting in New York, which began in 2019.
