The Gorham Town Board held a special meeting on June 4, approving multiple grant applications and infrastructure initiatives focused on parks and water quality improvements.

Ontario County Planning Director Thomas Harvey and Economic Development Director Ryan Davis opened the meeting with a presentation on countywide housing needs, goals, and strategies for enhancing affordability and diversity in Ontario County.

Grant Applications Approved for Water Quality and Parks

The board unanimously adopted Resolution #10-2025 in support of a 2025 Non-Agricultural Nonpoint Source Planning Grant. If awarded, the grant will fund a planning report to assess several failing culverts in the town. Supervisor Dale C. Stell was designated the project’s authorized representative, and the town committed to a minimum 10% local match from the General Fund.

The board also approved Resolution #11-2025 authorizing submission of a 2025 application to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation for a planning project at Easton Park. The town pledged a 50% local match and support from MRB Group for grant submission.

To meet environmental compliance, the board adopted Resolution #12-2025, classifying the park planning project as a Type II Action under SEQR, requiring no further environmental review.

Additional Board Actions

The board authorized a $260.53 refund to William and Betty Garman for overpayment in Water District #6 capital costs and granted Supervisor Stell approval to sign required forms for the grant applications.

The board further consented to a permit request by Depew Road resident Reg Rogan for directional drilling related to drainage, as recommended by Highway Superintendent Eddinger and permitted under NYS Highway Law 149.

Resident Lynn Klotz requested that the housing presentation materials be posted to the town website. The meeting adjourned at 8:02 p.m. The next regular board meeting is scheduled for June 18 at 7:00 p.m. at the Gorham Town Hall.
