Assemblyman Jeff Gallahan has delivered $50,000 in state funding to support renovations at Blue Star Canteen NY #1 in Canandaigua, a hub for military families in the region.
The funding will go toward interior and exterior upgrades at the facility, which is operated by the Blue Star Mothers of America and serves as a vital support center for families with loved ones in the armed forces.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to support the dedicated Blue Star Canteen team in Canandaigua,” said Gallahan, who represents the 131st Assembly District. “This funding will help ensure that the Canteen’s building is safe, welcoming and equipped to meet the needs of those who serve our country and their loved ones.”
Joyce Mader, president of the local chapter, praised the investment: “The veterans are absolutely thrilled to have their home away from home refurbished. We are most grateful to Assemblyman Gallahan for the generous grant and are eagerly awaiting the results.”
Gallahan said he remains committed to enhancing quality of life for families throughout his district, which spans parts of Ontario, Seneca, Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Broome, and Chenango counties.
