Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside 32 shots and Sam Bennett notched his playoff-leading 14th goal as the Florida Panthers overwhelmed the Edmonton Oilers 6-1 in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday night. With the victory at Amerant Bank Arena, Florida took a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series.
Brad Marchand opened the scoring just 56 seconds in and made history, becoming the oldest player to score in each of the first three games of a Final at age 37. He also became the first in NHL history to follow an overtime winner with a first-minute goal in the next game. Sam Reinhart, Carter Verhaeghe, Evan Rodrigues, and Aaron Ekblad each added goals as Florida cashed in three times on 11 power-play chances during a penalty-filled night.
Corey Perry scored the lone goal for Edmonton, which committed 21 penalties totaling 85 minutes. Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl were held scoreless, and goaltender Stuart Skinner was pulled after allowing five goals on 23 shots.
Gam 4 of the series is set for Thursday at 8 p.m.
