The superintendent of the Moravia Central School District has stepped away from his role effective immediately, according to The Citizen. John Birmingham requested the voluntary leave, and school officials have not disclosed the reason, citing it as a personnel matter.
Board of Education President Neil R. Stevens said an acting superintendent will be appointed June 11 to manage daily operations. Birmingham declined to comment when contacted by the paper.
District leadership emphasized their ongoing commitment to students and urged the community to avoid speculation while the matter is handled with discretion and professionalism.
