Driver charged with aggravated DWI after Varick traffic stop

A 38-year-old Williamstown woman was arrested Saturday night for aggravated driving while intoxicated following a traffic stop in the Town of Varick, according to the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies say Amanda L. Wilsey was pulled over at approximately 11:23 p.m. on June 7 after being observed driving 52 mph in a 35 mph zone and failing to maintain her lane.

Following field sobriety tests, Wilsey was taken into custody and submitted to a chemical breath test, which revealed a blood alcohol concentration of 0.21%. She was charged with aggravated DWI, a misdemeanor, along with additional traffic violations.

Wilsey was released on an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in Varick Town Court on July 22.
