The Bonafiglia Family Foundation announced its intention to transform a vacant canalfront property into a premier hotel destination, offering economic incentives to qualified developers ready to bring the project to life.
The development would include approximately 80 guest rooms, a restaurant, conference and event space, green space, and pedestrian paths—delivering a major boost to downtown Seneca Falls and the Finger Lakes tourism corridor.
Located adjacent to the National Women’s Hall of Fame along the Cayuga-Seneca Canalway, the site offers a rare opportunity for a landmark project with lasting community value. “We are looking for visionary partners who share our commitment to quality, a high level of service and community impact,” said Judy Wentzel, Executive Director of the Bonafiglia Family Foundation.

To kick off the process, the foundation has issued a Request for Expression of Interest (RFEI) to developers, hotel operators, and investors. The RFEI outlines the foundation’s goals for a sustainable, community-oriented development that enhances downtown connectivity and hospitality offerings.
