A 19-year-old woman was arrested in Penn Yan after police said she assaulted a physically disabled relative during a domestic dispute.
Rayna L. Rios faces charges of Endangering the Welfare of an Incompetent or Physically Disabled Person and Harassment in the Second Degree.
According to the Penn Yan Police Department, officers responded to a report of a domestic incident at a local residence where Rios was acting as a caregiver. Authorities allege that Rios got into an argument with the victim and struck them with a closed fist. She also allegedly poured Gatorade and powdered creamer on the victim, who could not escape due to their physical limitations.
Rios was taken into custody at the scene and held for CAP arraignment to facilitate an order of protection, police said.
