Geneva City Council will meet Wednesday at 7 p.m. for its regular monthly session, with public hearings scheduled on the sale of city-owned land and Community Development Block Grant applications for the 2025 program year.
The first hearing will address a proposed sale of a city-owned parcel on Conover Street. The second will gather public input on the city’s intended CDBG applications, which help fund housing and community development projects benefiting low- to moderate-income residents.
Wednesday’s meeting will also include proclamations recognizing Juneteenth and Pride Month, and feature presentations from Superintendent Braman on code enforcement and Comptroller Blowers with a budget update for April.
Council will also consider a resolution supporting the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Scenic Byway, a multi-municipality initiative that could increase heritage tourism through Geneva. Additionally, council members will vote on setting a future public hearing for a lease-to-own agreement involving 63 Gates Avenue — a vacant lot near the Cracker Factory previously remediated through a DEC-led environmental project.
Other agenda items include updates from Council committees and City Supervisor, discussion on the MAP Grant Selection Committee, and the approval of minutes from recent meetings. Public comment is scheduled following the main agenda presentations, and Mayor Steve Valentino and councilors will deliver closing reports before adjournment.
The meeting will be livestreamed on the City of Geneva’s YouTube channel.
