Thad Fox to lead new Dundee Fresh Grocery store

Thad Fox has been named General Store Manager of the soon-to-open Dundee Fresh Grocery, located at 19 Union St. in Dundee.

“With a background in grocery operations, equipment management, and collegiate coaching, Fox brings a strong foundation of leadership and community-focused energy to the store’s launch and daily operations,” said Alice Shoemaker, President of the Dundee Fresh Grocery Board.

Fox moved to Dundee in July from Greenville, South Carolina, with his fiancée, Melanie Eatherton. Since relocating, the couple has restored a 127-year-old farmhouse on 30 acres, where they care for six dogs, 10 chickens, five ducks, and several beehives.

“I’m thrilled to be part of the Dundee community and to help bring a fresh, local-focused grocery experience to the area,” said Fox. “We’re building more than a store—we’re building relationships, supporting farmers, and enriching the Finger Lakes lifestyle.”

Dundee Fresh Grocery aims to offer a local-food-centered, low-cost shopping experience while serving as a community hub. “With Thad Fox at the helm, the store is poised to become a cornerstone of the Dundee community,” said Lydia Eldridge, chair of the organization’s Marketing Committee.

Shoemaker said volunteers are now being recruited to help staff the non-profit store. Interested residents can email [email protected] or text 607-438-9602 for more information.
