A Bloomfield man was arrested Thursday evening after failing to appear in court on environmental charges, according to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies took 62-year-old Rae James Latchford into custody without incident at his home on State Route 5 & 20 at approximately 7:37 p.m. on May 29.

The arrest stemmed from a bench warrant issued by the West Bloomfield Town Court. Authorities said the warrant was issued after Latchford failed to appear in court on several charges related to the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

Latchford was transported to the Ontario County Jail, where he was held pending arraignment in CAP Court.
