South Seneca Ambulance is alerting the public to a phone scam targeting local residents with fraudulent donation requests.
According to the agency, community members have reported receiving calls from individuals falsely claiming to represent South Seneca Ambulance and soliciting donations. Officials emphasize that the caller is not affiliated with the ambulance service in any way.
“We would never robo call any member of our community,” the agency stated. “All communication is conducted through appropriate and official channels, and we would never ask for this type of information over the phone.”
Residents are advised not to share any personal or financial information during these calls. Legitimate donations are accepted only in person or by mail.
Anyone who receives a suspicious call is encouraged to report it by contacting South Seneca Ambulance at 607-869-5313.
